Camporee: Parker Dam State Park
Troop 380 participated in the Japeechen District's fall
Camporee held at Parker Dam State Park. The Weather was clear and cold,
with a full moon so bright that several people woke up at night thinking
that flashlights were being shined into their tents!
There were many great activities, including a chance to
help a mammalogist capture voles and rats in order to study population
shifts in the area. But, the most popular (if messy) event of the weekend
was the infamous pie-eating contest. Here's what it looked like:
Matt checks out the goods...
And his competition...
Get ready, get set, aaaand... EAT!
Matt digs in with a vengeance!
Doing great, Joe! Just don't look at the kid next
to you...
Joe manages to find a moment to chew. However,
the kid next to him is not quite so lucky...
Matt pauses to calculate the amount of Pi left.
A real gentleman's sport, pie eating...
Suddenly, Joe loses his appetite...
Target eliminated, Sir! Returning to base.
